[FALLOUT 5 CHARACTER] SNORE
Name: Snore
Race: Super Mutant
Role: Wandering Warrior / Weaponsmith / Occasional Companion
Personality: Sleepy, cheerful, violent when necessary, surprisingly sophisticated
Combat Style: Heavy melee, improvised weapons, explosive creativity, unexpected speed
The Basic Idea
Snore is a large, chubby Super Mutant who is almost always tired.
Not because he's weak.
Not because he's sick.
Not because he's old.
He's just bored.
If there's nothing interesting happening, Snore will find somewhere comfortable, sit down, lean against a wall, and start snoring loudly enough that everyone nearby knows exactly where he is.
But the moment someone starts a fight?
Snore wakes up.
And when Snore wakes up, people start running.
Despite his bulky appearance, Snore is shockingly fast. He can close distances much faster than enemies expect, and his physical strength is exceptional even by Super Mutant standards.
SNORE'S PERSONALITY
Snore isn't particularly intimidating when you first meet him.
He might be sitting beside a campfire wearing surprisingly clean armor, polishing a piece of metal while fighting to keep his eyes open.
Then he'll casually say:
"Snore not sleeping. Snore thinking."
Five seconds later:
SNORE.
He has absolutely no shame about falling asleep in strange locations.
He can sleep:
Against a ruined car
Sitting upright
In a chair
Beside a campfire
In the middle of a settlement
On top of a pile of scrap
During someone else's conversation
Occasionally during a long journey
But there is one thing that reliably wakes him:
A good fight.
WHY IS SNORE SO WELL-KEPT?
This becomes one of Snore's biggest mysteries.
Most Super Mutants aren't known for meticulous grooming or maintaining elaborate equipment.
Snore is different.
His gear is:
Clean
Carefully maintained
Reinforced
Professionally fitted
Regularly repaired
Surprisingly stylish
His thick leather armor has carefully placed metal plates, reinforced stitching and customized pieces that look like they were made specifically for him.
His weapons are equally strange.
They're crude...
but beautifully engineered crude.
Nobody understands where he learned this stuff.
Snore won't explain it.
Sometimes he'll simply say:
"Snore know how make things."
If pressed:
"Snore always know."
That's it.
THE FASHION MYSTERY
Snore actually has excellent taste.
He understands color combinations, materials and silhouettes far better than anyone expects.
His armor might combine:
Thick brahmin leather
Metal scrap
Old industrial plates
Motorcycle components
Pre-War sports equipment
Railroad hardware
Machine parts
Straps and buckles
Yet somehow it all works.
Other Super Mutants might laugh at him initially.
Then they see him wearing something that looks like a post-apocalyptic armored fashion statement.
Snore doesn't consider himself fashionable.
He simply believes:
"Armor should look good."
SNORE'S TRUE TALENT: IMPROVISED ENGINEERING
This is where Snore becomes genuinely unusual.
He's an improvised weapons genius.
Give him:
A broken lawnmower
A motorcycle engine
A fire extinguisher
A pipe
Some springs
A busted rifle
Two pieces of scrap metal
A roll of wire
And he'll disappear into his workshop.
Several hours later:
BOOM.
He emerges carrying something nobody has ever seen before.
His philosophy:
"If it break, fix it. If it don't break, make it hit harder."
His creations aren't necessarily elegant.
They're absurdly effective.
SIGNATURE WEAPONS
The Snorehammer
A massive homemade melee weapon constructed from an industrial hydraulic component, reinforced steel and a modified vehicle suspension system.
It looks ridiculously heavy.
Snore swings it like it's nothing.
The Wake-Up Call
A homemade shotgun assembled from scavenged parts.
It has an enormous muzzle and produces an absolutely terrifying blast.
Snore only uses it when he wants someone to wake up.
His definition of "wake up" is questionable.
The Napalm Noodle
One of Snore's more ridiculous inventions.
It's essentially a flexible fuel-delivery weapon cobbled together from industrial equipment.
Snore thinks the name is hilarious.
Nobody else does.
The Scrap Cannon
A crude launcher capable of firing specially prepared chunks of metal and miscellaneous junk.
Snore calls the ammunition:
"Garbage Bullets."
UNEXPECTED COMBAT ABILITY
Snore's appearance creates a dangerous misconception.
Enemies see a:
big, chubby Super Mutant.
They assume:
slow.
They're wrong.
Snore has an unusually high combination of:
Strength
Acceleration
Balance
Sprint speed
Reaction time
Close-range power
He can suddenly explode forward.
One moment he's standing there looking half-asleep.
The next moment:
THUD.
He's already on top of somebody.
SNORE'S COMBAT AI
Snore should have some unusual AI behaviors.
Idle
Snore frequently:
Yawns
Stretches
Sits down
Looks for somewhere to lean
Checks his weapons
Falls asleep
Traveling
He may suddenly stop walking.
The player turns around.
Snore is asleep.
The player wakes him.
Snore:
"Snore was walking."
Player:
"You were standing still."
Snore:
"Walking in Snore's head."
WHEN COMBAT STARTS
Everything changes.
Snore becomes extremely alert.
His fighting style is aggressive and unpredictable.
He can:
Sprint directly toward enemies
Shoulder-charge targets
Grab enemies
Throw enemies
Smash enemies against objects
Use environmental weapons
Pick up heavy objects
Throw junk
Build improvised weapons during the game
Switch between weapons surprisingly quickly
And because he's unusually fast, enemies constantly underestimate him.
THE FUNNIEST PART
Snore can actually fall asleep during combat if the fight becomes boring.
Imagine the player watching Snore destroy three raiders.
The final raider runs away.
Snore watches him disappear.
Snore:
"Come back."
The raider keeps running.
Snore sighs.
He sits down.
SNORE.
The player has to wake him up.
POSSIBLE COMPANION MECHANIC
If Snore becomes a companion, he could have a unique "Boredom" system.
The longer Snore goes without meaningful combat, the more likely he is to:
Yawn → Sit → Sleep.
But successful combat dramatically increases his mood.
A major battle could leave him saying:
"That was good."
Then immediately:
"Snore tired."
Falls asleep.
SNORE'S HIDDEN DEPTH
There should be a serious mystery underneath the comedy.
Someone taught Snore how to make things.
Someone taught him:
Metallurgy
Leatherworking
Mechanical repair
Weapon construction
Armor fitting
Engineering
But who?
Perhaps Snore doesn't remember.
Or perhaps he remembers something that he refuses to discuss.
Maybe his craftsmanship comes from fragmented memories from before his transformation.
That creates a potentially fascinating quest:
"Who Taught Snore?"
The player could discover clues scattered throughout the wasteland.
Old workshops.
Technical manuals.
A ruined settlement.
A dead craftsman.
An abandoned Super Mutant hideout.
Eventually, the player discovers that Snore's abilities aren't random.
Someone deliberately taught him.
And Snore may know more about his past than he lets on.
SNORE'S RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER SUPER MUTANTS
Other Super Mutants don't quite know what to make of him.
Some think he's:
"Stupid."
Others think he's:
"Funny."
A few recognize that he's actually incredibly intelligent in very specific areas.
Snore doesn't care.
If another Super Mutant insults his armor:
"You ugly."
Snore:
"Snore armor prettier."
Then he goes back to sleeping.
SNORE'S SETTLEMENT
If the player recruits him, Snore could eventually establish a personal workshop.
His area would contain:
A giant bed
Weapon benches
Leatherworking stations
Metalworking equipment
Scrap piles
Experimental weapons
Armor racks
Random mechanical inventions
And most importantly:
A sign that says:
SNORE'S WORKSHOP
Underneath it:
NO BORING PEOPLE.
Snore is usually asleep inside.
What Makes Snore Stand Out
Snore works particularly well because he isn't simply "another Super Mutant."
He's a contradiction:
Chubby but extremely fast.
Sleepy but extremely energetic in combat.
Crude-looking but surprisingly sophisticated.
Messy-looking wasteland environment but immaculate personal gear.
Seemingly simple but potentially brilliant.
Violent but generally easygoing.
Always tired but absolutely loves fighting.
And his biggest mystery is that nobody knows exactly where his incredible craftsmanship came from.
That gives Snore the potential to be one of those Fallout characters players remember years after finishing the game.
